Our analysis focuses mainly on the official contributions from DAC donors.

Which countries provide the most humanitarian assistance? Which are the most generous? Which countries prioritise humanitarian assistance within their ODA budgets?

The US is the largest single donor by volume

TThe US contributed US$3 billion in total humanitarian assistance in 2006, making it by far the the largest individual DAC donor by volume.

Collectively, the EC and EU member states are the largest providers of humanitarian aid, contributing US$4.2 billion in 2006, which represented just under 50% of the total. Pie chart >
