Public support for humanitarian assistance through NGOs

Most analyses of humanitarian assistance funding focus on the efforts of DAC donors and the relevant multilateral agencies for whom data is readily available. This excludes many sources of humanitarian assistance, notably contributions from non-DAC donors, host communities and direct remittances.

 

The Humanitarian Costs of Climate Change

Published in December 2008, The Humanitarian Costs of Climate Change attempts to improve understanding of how climate change may affect international humanitarian spending. Using existing international databases that track disaster occurrence and humanitarian costs, and employing four distinct methodological approaches, a range of potential impact scenarios is developed.
