Stockholm International Peace Research International (SIPRI)

SIPRI is an independent international institute dedicated to research into conflict, armaments, arms control and disarmament. It manages data on:

• international relations and security trends
• multilateral peace operations – UN and non-UN peace operations since 2000, including location, dates of deployment and operation, mandate, participating countries, number of personnel, costs and fatalities
• military expenditure of 172 countries since 1988, allowing comparison of countries’ military spending: in local currency, in US dollars, and as a share of GDP
• transfers of major conventional arms since 1950
