CRED EM-DAT Disaster Database

The Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters (CRED), which is located within the School of Public Health of the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) in Brussels, is a leading repository of information on the impact of disasters. CRED’s EM-DAT disaster database contains data on the impact of more than 16,000 disaster events dating back to 1900. Data is sourced from UN agencies, NGOs, insurance companies, research institutes and press agencies.
